The Spokane Transit Authority has added 19 new fourty-foot buses during this last month of November. Gillig Corp, a company located in Hayward, CA has manufactured these buses. The purchase was made through a very competitive bidding opportunity at a place called Intercity Transit, located in Olympia, WA.
Our new buses have a 42 person seating capacity, a low floor design (which allows for an even step on and off the bus when pulled up to the side way, and a wheel chair ramp.
The life expectancy for these new buses are about the same as our previous, at around 12 years or 500,000 miles.
